Before we began the Tuesday talk-back with the audience, I was approached by a long-time theatre patron who commended the biker milieu, especially the costumes. “When I first read about you setting the play in the world of bikers,” he said, “I thought it was a metaphor that would get in the way, that the production would be jumping through hoops to make it work. But that didn’t happen. The costumes [which usually identify the character] made it easy to follow the play and clarified the action. It was something that really helped and supported the play.”
This picture shows that bikers as movers and players at the highest level of political power is more than just a theatrical metaphor. Ah, the gifts that present themselves during the Presidential campaign!
Richard III plays through this Saturday night at 7:30 in the Wells-Metz Theatre. There’s a 2:00 p.m. matinee this Saturday, as well. Click here for more info and a link to a preview video.
